Textile Recycling 

Recycling in fashion is also called textile recycling. It refers to the practice of using old fabric and clothes for the production of new fabric products. It has long been practiced and can prove to be a very good tool to lead an eco-friendly lifestyle.

Textile Recycling plays a significant role in the fashion industry to make our fashion practices more sustainable. It has a lot of economical benefits apart from ecological benefits. Using old garments for the production of new products helps in reducing the cost of production. It's much more convenient to recycle textile rather than building it from the scratch. However, recycling has its own drawbacks as the material formed as a result of recycling is not much durable.

Recycled materials are appreciated by the customers and prove to be a great marketing tactic. It boosts economy in this way. Textile recycling also helps to minimize the use of natural resources. 

The greatest benefit of recycling in fashion is the reduction of emission of greenhouse gases. The fabric after being worn-out, if not recycled, goes into the garbage. Through garbage, it makes its way into the landfills. The decomposition of fabric releases Carbon dioxide into the environment which contributes to global warming and climate change. Hence, it is crucial to promote recycling practices in fashion industry. 

However, despite the numerous benefits of textile recycling, there are a number of challenges faced by fashion industry which makes it hard to adopt the practice of textile recycling. The major problem is the reduction in durability of recycled clothing. The fibres are weakened due to long-tem use of the cloth. If we want textile recycling to be adapted world wide and reduce carbon footprint, we must find a way to increase the durability of recycled clothing.

Another challenge faced by fashion industry is that people avoid re-wearing the same outfit. It is due to the negative effects of social media and harmful trends. This increases the demand of new clothing and hence adds on to need of production of more clothes. The most effective and eco-friendly way to combat this issue would be to design recycled clothes in such a way that they can be worn again with different styles. Some companies are hiring social media influencers to promote their clothing with different styles to initiate new, eco-friendly trend of reusing. If we try to be consistent with our efforts, we can help in promoting recycling and reusing in fashion industry. 

Recycling fabric with polyester and synthetic fibre is not possible. This can be a major environmental hazards as the non-recyclabe clothing will have to be thrown away. Accumulated in large quantities with in landfills,  will emit carbon dioxide and will contribute to the rapid growth of climate change. It is important that we bycot such products to reduce their production for the betterment of our environment till we can invent the technology to recycle them efficiently. 

Sustainable fashion is all about reusing and recycling materials to reduce waste. It's great to see more brands embracing eco-friendly practices. Sustainable fashion is all about finding creative ways to repurpose and upcycle clothing and accessories. By giving new life to old items, we can reduce our environmental impact and promote a more circular economy. It's inspiring to see how designers are incorporating recycled materials into their collections.
